About TrailBlaze

Verb: TrailBlaze
The word trailblaze means to clear a path, lead the way or be the first to do something new that others can later follow.
Origin
- Trail
Trail comes via Old French from Latin trahere, which means “to pull”.
- Blaze
Blaze stems from Old Norse blesi, which means “a white spot” - originally a white marking on an animal’s forehead.
- TrailBlaze
Trail + Blaze as a new word: When settlers in North America began cutting pale marks into the trees to mark paths through the forest, the expression “to blaze a trail” was born - to mark or clear a path.
Our story
Many Danish companies are looking for specialised labour and skills, while students at the same time struggle to find relevant work. In North Jutland, 55% of graduates move out of the region to find their first job.
2023 · Aalborg University
The idea is born
We study at Aalborg University and spend our spare time as volunteers: as tutors, on study boards, in student associations and in student politics. This is where we first experience the gap between students and the business world. We spend much of our time helping our fellow students get off to a good start.
2025 · Aalborg
TrailBlaze is founded
Small and medium-sized companies in North Jutland need extra brainpower, and students need experience. So we decided to build the bridge.

AAU Innovate
TrailBlaze becomes part of Aalborg University’s startup programme and gets mentoring, office space and a place in Aalborg’s best startup community.

Driven by volunteer passion
A fantastic group of volunteers helped us get started. They are also passionate about helping young people get off to a good start in life, and they gain experience themselves along the way.
Today
Now it gets exciting
We now have a community of more than 700 students. Our mission is for more talent to gain experience - and stay in North Jutland.

Victor Bach Petersen
CEO & Co-Founder
Victor has business development experience from companies such as Grundfos and a fintech company. At TrailBlaze, he leads the commercial side and our work with companies.
Sarah Møller Kristiansen
CHRO & Co-Founder
Your first point of contact as a student.
Sarah has a vocational office qualification and is passionate about HR and employer branding. At TrailBlaze, she leads HR and the structure of the students' placements.
Magnus Kjeldgaard Nørholm
CTO & Co-Founder
Magnus has always had a strong interest in software development, data and AI. At TrailBlaze, he leads technology and has built our own systems for clients and students.

TrailBlaze was founded in 2025 by three students: Victor, Sarah and Magnus.
What does TrailBlaze do?
At TrailBlaze, we help students find student jobs that suit their degree. At the same time, we help companies find the right students with skills that match the company’s needs and tasks.
Where do you work, and which companies do you work with?
Our base is North Jutland. We work with companies of all sizes and in all industries that want to hire students for relevant student jobs.
